Directions For Use:
PROtech Spa Stain & Scale Control is best used for prevention of metallic stains and hard water scaling. It sequesters ( picks up ) the material causing stains and scale and holds them in solution. If stains exists, they may be old ones requiring complete cleaning of the walls, or stains of an organic nature. Dissolved metals and minerals ( such as Iron, Calcium, Manganese and Magnesium ) in spa water and corrosion of metal fittings will often cause staining and/or scaling. Do not let pH of water fall below 7.0 or serious corrosion problems may result. For scale prevention it is also essential to maintain pH at 7.2 to 7.6, total alkalinity at 100 to 150 ppm, and calcium hardness at 100 to 275 ppm.
 
Initial Dose:
Add 2 oz. of Stain $ Scale Control per 500 gallons when Iron, Copper and other metals are present.
Maintenance Dose:
Add 1 oz. of Stain & Scale Control per 500 gallons every two weeks or as needed to keep water mineral and scale free.

Use on Start-Up:
1. Turn off ALL equipment.
2. Pour entire bottle contents evenly around spa edge.
3. Run filter for at least 30 minutes.

Tip: The best time to treat for metals is when you first fill the spa or drain and refill the unit.
Using Leisure Time's Defender each week will control metals after the application of Metal Gon at start-up.


 

General:
Control of calcium can be very challenging, especially in spas. Regular use of Defender will prevent mineral buildup from occurring and causing the spa's heater or equipment to fail. Use as a follow-up to Metal Gon, applied at start-up.

Weekly:
1. Add directly to spa. Use 2 oz. for spas up to 800 gallons. Use 4 oz. for spas over 800 gallons.
2. Run filtration system for one hour, or normal filter cycle.
